About: (Description)
A village at the extreme south of Vatnsleysuströnd, with a harbour and lighthouse, fishing and fish processing, industrial mechanics, pork and poultry farming. Preschool, elementary school, sport centre, swimming pool, community centre, camping site and motel. By the elementary school there is a memorial to Jón Daníelsson the strong (1771-1855), made of stone weighing 450 kg, which Jón is said to have picked up and carried.
