About: (Description)
Búðardalur is a village in Dalasýsla county. It was the home of sheriff Þorsteinn Þorsteinsson(1884-1961), one of Iceland’s main book colletors. His libray is now at Skálholt. There is a special museum in Buðardalur in connection with the 1000th anniversary of the discovery of Vínland (what is now known as the United States).
How to get there:
From Borgarnes take road no. 1 direction Akureyri. About 37 km from Borgarnes take exit to road no. 60 direct to Búðardalur.
