Heydalir, often called Eydalir, a farm, church and parsonage, formerly considered one of the richest parishes in Iceland. Community centre Staðarborg, school. Among the best known clergymen of Heydalir was the poet Einar Sigurðsson (1538-1626) who wrote one of the most popular of all Icelandic Christmas hymns.
