About: (Description)
Húsafell, the innermost farm in the Hálsasveit district. Formerly a parsonage and church, now a chapel. Made famous among other things by Snorri Björnsson (1710-1803), versifier, poet and strong man, who tried his strength on the boulder Kvíahella (180 kg) which still stands in the cemetery.
Woods and geothermal heat. An ancient farm has been excavated west of Húsafell.
Húsafell is among the most frequented tourist places in Iceland. There is a camping place, swimming pool and restaurant in Húsafell.
