About: (Description)
At Hveravellir there are two logdes and a camping area. The older logde was built in 1938 and it is on two floors. On the groundfloor there are two bedrooms, a little kitchen, an entrance and on the first floor is the third bedroom. There is room for 35 persons in a sleeping bag accommodation.

The other lodge was built in 1980 and consists of a big room with 20 double beds, kitchen, entrance and the wardens room.

Both lodges are centrally heated with geothermal water and there is hot and cold water for consumption. In both kitchens there are cooking facilities with gas and the necessary kitchen utensils.

At Hveravellir there is custody all year long, in the winter the persons staying at the weather station, which is near by, manage the area. In the summer there are wardens.

How to get there:
From Gullfoss take road no. 35 over Kjölur mountain road. After about 90 km drive turn direction Hveravellir, there is a sign on the road.
