Fosshótel Laugar is a 2/3 star comfort tourist class hotel.
The hotel offers 50 standard rooms with shower/WC, television and a phone.
Fosshótel Laugar also has a restaurant, a breakfast room and a bar.
There is an excellent new outdoor swimming pool next door to Fosshótel Laugar.
Laugar is a gateway to some of the countries greatest attraction like lake Mývatn, Ásbyrgi canyon and the waterfalls Goðafoss and Dettifoss.
How to get there:
The village of Laugar is located on road no. 1 between Lake Mývatn and the town of Akureyri.
Coming from Akureyri: drive road no. 1 and about 15 km after passing the waterfall “Goðafoss” you will reach Laugar. The hotel is located on the left side of the main road and features several large white buildings with a red roof.
The front desk is located in the building with the Fosshotel flags and next to the small duck pond.
The hotel buildings are used as a boarding school from September to May.
Laugar is very centrally located to visit Goðafoss waterfall, the whale watching town of Húsavík, Lake Mývatn and Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland.
