Varmá River - Warm river, possible to bath - South West Iceland
, 810 Hveragerði
Region:
South West
About: (Description)
The river Varmá runs through the town Hveragerði. The temperature is relatively higher in this river than other rivers you will find in Iceland, especially when the flow is low. The average temperature in the summer time around midday is around 17 °C but can easily increase to 20-25 °C on a good summer day. On a good summers day the river is used quite a lot to bath in. The part of the river, which is being used for bathing, is the furthest part that runs through the town or from Reykjafoss and up. Reykjafoss is across from the swimming pool at Laugarskarð.
