Sundlaug - Hot Spring, Possible to bath - South West Iceland
, 810 Hveragerði
Region:
South West
GPS:
N63°58.867 W21°10.579
About: (Description)
Sundlaug is the furthest north of the hot springs that belong to Opnum. The hot spring was made in the beginning of last century and was used to teach children to swim. The hot spring is 10x25 m but it hasn’t been used for many decades because the depth of the hot spring is only um 0.2-0.3 m. The temperature went down from 30.2 °C to 27.8 °C
How to get there:
Sundlaug hot spring is a part of Opnum, which is about 1 km below main road #1 south of Hveragerði. To reach the hot spring you need to go down along Varmá River on the east side but half way of the trip you need to walk.
